Lots of Kids Birthdays...

November is the time for lots of birthdays...especially the little ones. I had lots of fun making a pink and green 1st birthday cake with "smash cake," a Lightening from Cars cake, a classic birthday cake, and yet another Princess and the Frog cake. Princess Tiana has become a local favorite.

Ladybugs, and a taste of Red, Black & White

This weekend was quite busy. One of my good friends from high school asked me to make her daughter's 1st birthday cake. It was a Halloween Party and her daughter was dressed as a ladybug. I made a 2 tiered strawberry and vanilla cassada cake, along with a vanilla "smash" cake and chocolate ladybug cupcakes. I also made a birthday cake for my cousin's best friend. Happy 30th Birthday Keisha.

Cupcakes

My cupcakes have become a hot commodity. With over 20 flavors you are sure to walk away happy.

Family Get Togethers

Since I have started making my famous cakes, at every family function it is a must that at least one of my cakes are present. Here are some pics of my "just because" creations.

Shoe Box Cake

I learned how to successfully make MMF, marshmallow fondant, so I took on the challenge of creating a custom, shoe box cake. It was vanilla with buttercream icing and cream cheese filling.

Not Just Designed Cake

I sometimes forget that I do not just make custom cakes. I had to stop and enjoy a 7up lb cake.

Halloween Birthdays

This weekend my little cousin celebrated his 4th birthday. He had an impromptu party due to scheduling issues so I made him a cute little cupcake cake. The theme of his party was Halloween and harvest time. I love this cake. These cupcake cakes are great for younger children because you don't have to worry about the big messes.

Princess and the Frog

My list of orders is growing everyday but I am not complaining one bit. I had another request for a Princess and the Frog cake. I love Princess Tiana so I love these cakes. It turned out great and they loved it.

Past Cakes

I am going to post a couple of my past cakes because since I just began my site. I have several order coming up so be on the lookout for the pictures. My biggest challenge is going to be the stacked book cakes covered in fondant that I will be making for the faculty of the middle school I work at. I am always open to tips and ideas so please help me out. I have been also been looking for the little clear boxes that you place petit-fours in for favors. Any ideas on where I can get those from.

Hawaiian Fiesta

I had an interesting request for a cake this past week. A little girl turned 8 and she wanted a Hawaiian Fiesta themed party. Her mother called me and asked if that was possible. When it comes to decorating, anything is possible. This little girl does not like fondant so I created her a 3-layer cake covered in cream cheese icing with fondant flower accents. It turned out much better than I thought it would.

Long Day

While at work today I have decided to create a blog. I am a middles school classroom aide and a cake decorator. I tasted a cake today and it was horrible. You could taste all of the ingredients and feel the sugar in between your teeth. That gritty feeling. But anyways. My passion is my cakes. I have been decorating cakes for years. I will post pics later. I have decided to open up my business local, in the DFW area. If you need a cake let me know.

TaTa for now,
Ashlee
